The Argentina Volunteer programs are based in Buenos Aires, a modern-style city, completed by colonial influences from Europe, giving it a unique characteristic. More than one third of the country’s 32 million population lives Buenos Aires.
It is a stunning city full of street life: cafes, restaurants, flowers draping from the windows in the spring and the inhabitants (Porteños) maintaining their traditions, humor and pride to be Argentinians.
As a volunteer in Argentina you stay in a comfortable house in Martínez, a nice neighbourhood in the North of Buenos Aires.
The house is a classical antique house, on a big avenue close to the train station. You stay in shared rooms shared by six. The house has three complete bathrooms, lounge area, dinning area, a fully equipped kitchen and two fridges. It has free Wi-Fi, lockers, terrace and a nice garden.
Projects in Buenos Aires start on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. You should arrive on Sundays.
You can choose to volunteer from 2 to 24 weeks.
Orientation takes place on Monday after the arrival date.
You must be at least 18 years old at the start of your placement. Exceptions can be made for under 18’s accompanied by a guardian or with a parental consent.
All volunteers must have adequate volunteer travel insurance and are required to provide a criminal background check to local staff on arrival in Argentina or during orientation.
Knowledge of basic Spanish is desired but not a pre-requisite. If you do not know any Spanish, we recommend that you take advantage of a very affordable Spanish course that our local team can arrange for you.
You will have a competent support and advices from the local team and project leaders. Someone will always be available in the case of any emergency. Please keep in mind that you are in a different country and should take some precautions to avoid exposing yourself to certain risks.
The local coordinators will give you all the information to have a safe and unforgettable experience.
There are no hidden costs. These projects are the most affordable to volunteer in Argentina.
