Go for a very special volunteer trip and volunteer with football coaching in Ghana. These boys in Ghana kicking football are waiting for you to play with them! Ghana was 7th place in 2010 FIFA World Cup and so it takes no wonder what these kids are dreaming of: Quatar and Russia. Loved throughout the country, football is Ghana’s number one sport, and it’s not exactly hard to see why!
Working with local schools in rural villages, our football coaching volunteer program is great for sports fans and wannabe coaches alike. When you arrive at the project you’ll be assigned a team, and moving forward you’ll be there to coach them to sporting glory, from heading up the training session on the beach to being chief supporter on the sidelines of a match.
The sports development program in Ghana helps youth in the rural villages to foster their talents and focus on safe and healthy after school activities. Additionally, it helps youth to gain leadership skills and discipline by becoming a part of a team, and building stronger bonds with their community.

Volunteer in Uganda in our football coaching. Sports have the powerful ability to draw people together, even beyond international borders, help to build strong communities, and contribute to the creation of healthier, happier individuals. Sports also can offer a route out of poverty and a path of excitement and promise to many young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
However, for children in deprived communities, opportunities to participate in creative games are rare, due to lack of resources to provide specialized sports and physical education teachers. As a sports development volunteer, you can give these disadvantaged teenagers the chance to discover new sports and enjoy getting fit, encouraging them to uncover their potential. IKPVA Uganda’s sports coaching projects offer participants with both valuable life-changing experience and an opportunity to make a difference.
Volunteers on sports development in Uganda interact daily with local students, children, young adults, and their leaders in schools, sports clubs and youth organizations. They design and organize various sports activities like:
Please note: volunteers do not need to be qualified or experienced to participate on these projects, however volunteers with special expertise are highly preferred.

As an 18 year old exploring the continent for the first time this was a great way to acclimatise to the friendly South American culture. With the city of Buenos Aires just a half an hour train away as well as other day trips such as Tigre and Temaiken close too, San Isidro offers not just a great support scheme for young affected children, through the Fundación Cor program, but also offers a great location to spend your time during the program.
With a range of children from about 4 months to 13 years it really felt like a family here – which is precisely what those kids need. That and a bit of love and attention of course. I felt a real connection with not just the kids but also the super caring staff.
This program really must be considered by anyone with an interest for volunteering or just putting a smile on the faces that need it most.
How can this program be improved?
More outdoor activities for the kids.– Matt, 19 years old, West Sussex, England
