With only 33 teachers for nearly 750 children, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain teaching experience or work alongside a teacher.
This is a government primary school which is open to the kids in the area who generally don’t have much money. The school is so important because there are still high levels of illiteracy. Even though funds are short, the staff at this school work hard to provide quality education for these children. So children will be able to develop their full potential. After school, they will have better job opportunities.
The teachers at school strive to foster initiative, individuality, and integrity and provide the children with the learning to be able to tackle life head-on. They teach them the power of positivity, perseverance, and ambition. Within their limited means, the kids are given a chance to have a promising future and stop the circle of poverty.

You will be teaching English at a CSR (Community school) in Jaipur, situated in the southern part of the city. Since the school is catering to children from an economically weak & marginalized area, quality English teaching with all other required amenities provided are a great advance for the young students. Our in country partners have supported the school with all the furniture, infrastructure & teaching materials like boards etc. There are around 54 students who are studying in 1st to 5th grades. As a volunteer you will teach the students the necessary things that will help them in developing their interpersonal skills. You will also help the local staff in daily operations of the school. The top-most requirement of the project is to develop the overall personality of the students by encouraging extracurricular activities, art & craft, group discussions, teaching & communication.

Rita from Portugal spent six weeks as a medical volunteer at the Children Hospital in Kathmandu. She enjoyed living with a Nepales family, and soon overcame the language barrier. At the hospital, she learned about the practises of treatment, and found her way to help the children:
It was a wonderfull experience this 6 weeks in Kathmandu, a unic experience that I will never forget. I had an opportunitiy to learn first hand about Nepalese family life and to share everything with them, like it was my own family. Be a volunteer in Konti Children Hospital it was a rewarding experience. However in the beginning I felt little frustrated. Because of the language barrier, the diferent practices from what I used too, I felt that I didn’t help as much I desire.
But then I take the opportunity to observe, discover, learn about the health cares, most common diseases in Nepal and listen all the experience and dificulties of the parent’s and all the staff of the hospital.
I start to be able to help slowly according to my capabilities.
After this experience I felt lik the Nepali people did more for me than I did for them. – Rita Gomes da Silva (Portugal)

Working as a Volunteer in the medical field in Rio de Janeiro is a great opportunity to help the poorer parts of Rio with a variety of medical issues. As a medical intern, you can work in a clinic and assist the local doctors and nurses. In addition, you can also promote health awareness in the suburbs and favelas of Rio and provide important educational work.
As our interns told us, the clinics are full of devoted doctors and nurses who really gave them an insight into how the clinic works. The whole medical team is very nice and ready to work with the volunteers, even if the volunteers are still learining Portuguese. Finally, you can have good learning experiences, shadow doctors, and learn some basic medical techniques

Go for a very special trip as a Carnival Volunteer in Rio and participate in the preparations at Samba School. Therefore you will experience Carnival from inside, where the preparations and rehearsals are beginning already several months before Carnival.
Since love and passion for Samba makes everyone equal, at Carnival people leave all economic and social boundaries behind.
The Carnival project allows volunteers to join the preparations and embrace the hard work involved in preparing for one of biggest parties on earth!
Samba schools competing in Carnival have a full year of intense work to prepare the many costumes, floats music and dances for the celebration and volunteers help some of the leading Samba schools in the creation of costumes or decoration of floats.
Volunteers do not need to have any experience in costume or stage design, just a willingness to work hard.
Samba schools are born from the local favelas (urban slums) and most of the schools take their names from the community they represent. Each school unifies and proudly represents people from that community and all Cariocas (Rio-born Brazilians) also have their favorite school.
Whilst volunteers are hard at work, they can also engage in some Portuguese and English language exchange with fellow workers.
Please note, the dates for Carnival change every year (it is held 40 days before Easter). Volunteers do not get to participate in the Carnaval parade for free, this opportunity is available an extra cost and needs to be arranged in Brazil with our local staff.
