South Africa: All the smiles, all the sincere “Thank you teacher”

About one of the greatest adventures.
Ended up getting more then I was giving.
All the smiles, all the sincere “Thank you teacher”, all those hugs were worth every second.

Sara Ferreira with the children: All the smiles

Sara Ferreira with the children: All the smiles

❤️❤️❤️

Mariana Oliveira brings gifts for donation to the Crèche in South Africa

Mariana Oliveira, who has been volunteering with the children in South Africa, now has brought a the gifts for donation to the Crèche:

Mariana Oliveira with the childrenToday when I arrived with gifts at school for donation, I could not imagine such happiness, both of the children when they saw the presents as mine to see all those smiles and glitter in the eyes.
No doubt it was one of the happiest moments of my life! See all those kids screaming, jumping and saying “thank you, teacher”.
The schoolteachers were as happy as they were. They thanked me very much!
I told them I had help from many friends and family! Yes, this was only possible because many people helped with donations or sharing the post. We got a total of R $ 3,015.00 which converted into the African currency equals RAND 12,964.00.
With the money was bought 72 toys, cakes, juices and fruit for child, totaling RAND 10,230.00. The remainder of the money will be donated to the school for the purchase of carpet / floor carpeting where the children play.
I want to thank everyone for the trust, the help (those who made their accounts available and shared), those who contributed, those who sent a message of support … No doubt we made these children’s day much Happier !!!
Thank you – Mariana Oliveira

Original Post in Portuguese:

Ver todas aquelas crianças gritando, pulando e dizendo “thank you, teacher”.
As professoras da escolinha ficaram tão felizes quanto eles. Elas me agradeceram muito!

Após a compra do carpete/tapete, eles estarão me encaminhando o último comprovante e eu estarei anexando tbm.

Talvez amor, felicidade e simplicidade sejam elas.
Trabalho voluntário ❤️❤️❤️

Mariane Oliveira, Brasil

Brazilian volunteer Mariane Oliveira sharing her love and bringing joy to a childcare in South Africa. Volunteer Abroad, the best travel experience.

Mariane has published a call for donations on Facebook:

Doando 10, 20, 30 reais… Quanto você puder

Find it on Facebook….

The satisfaction of helping the school is very good.
The children need a lot of love, help and support and give you their love back…
The school needs more volunteers and also financial support in order to improve its conditions.

Big Five Monitoring in South Africa: Buffalos

Volunteer in South Africa with Big Five monitoring – lions, elephants, buffalos, white & black rhino, and hyenas. You will be heavily involved in important conservation work to make sure the animals are healthy and the land is well balanced.

Your days will be spent tracking, spotting, recording and observing the movements and behavior of these African animals. The data you collect will be used to create files on the animals and monthly reports which will be analyzed and monitored by the park coordinators.

This project is responsible for all the conservation work and record keeping for the National Park Section, and the volunteers it receives provide its only source of income. Your participation is so important for the long term success of this project. Like your memories, your contribution will last for a long time.

If you have always dreamt of experiencing the wilderness of the African plains and you love animals, this project is for you.

Volunteer in Uganda with the IT and Computer Project

Volunteer in Uganda in our IT program and open a new world to students and teachers. Uganda faces the same challenges as most developing economies, the poorly developed ICT infrastructure. Rural Areas suffer from largely poor communications infrastructure and  limited electricity coverage. These factors constrain connectivity and internet access for the population. Setting up a computer labaratory involves high capital costs.

Teach Basic Computer Skills to the Teachers and Students at School

Majority of public and community schools do not have access to computers. The few schools with computer centres have only a limited number of computers, need skilled or qualified teachers. Volunteers in Uganda impart various practical computer skills to students in schools as well as their teachers, community youth, women. You will teach basic things, like how to turn a computer on and off and then explain use the internet for research and communication. After a while, you will start to explain software applications and systems such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Please note, volunteers do not need to be qualified or experienced to participate on the computer project, however volunteers with special expertise are highly preferred.
