Nepal Medical Project at a Pediatric Hospital in Kathmandu
Based in Kathmandu city, this medical program is a great way to learn about the Nepalese healthcare system while immersing yourself in the local culture. Your tasks will vary depending on your background, but if you have medical training or formal experience, you will be able to practice non-intrusive care for patients, under supervision from local professionals.
This project also gives you the opportunity to share and improve your medical skills and to discover the most eminent health issues that developing countries face today. You will learn a great deal while also doing really valuable work; having a positive impact on the local community and the development of the Nepalese healthcare system.
Your duties will be decided subject to your abilities and experience. Volunteers with medical training or formal experience will, under the supervision of the local team of professionals, practice non-intrusive care. The hospital will welcome you as a keen learner and will also expect you to share your knowledge of the medical techniques from your country.
Volunteer and live in historic Kathmandu
In this volunteer placement you will be living in the historical Kathmandu city, and thus you will get to witness the peculiar way of life of its inhabitants, and immerse yourself in Nepali culture. You will get to taste the wonderful food too as you are given a traditional Nepali Style lunch everyday while you are working. You will have a local support contact who will be there for you throughout your placement.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Applicants should be medical professionals, students or trainees. Your responsibilities and the type of work you will be doing depend on the resume you provide before you start. CV is required.
