Volunteering in Cambodia - Locations
Join one of the rewarding volunteer programs and enjoy affordable volunteering in Cambodia. The locations of the volunteer opportunities are:
PHNOM PENH: vibrant, bustling capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh is situated at the confluence of three rivers. It is a charming city, a veritable oasis compared to the modernity of other Asian capitals. It exudes a kind of provincial charm with French colonial mansions and tree-lined boulevards amidst monumental Angkorian architecture.
SIEM REAP: Visitors come here to see the temples, but there is plenty to do in and around the city. Siem Reap has reinvented itself as the epicentre of chic Cambodia, with everything from backpacker party pads to hip hotels, world-class wining and dining across a range of cuisines, sumptuous spas, great shopping, local tours to suit both foodies and adventurers, and a creative cultural scene that includes Cambodia's leading circus.

Accommodations & Meals
AVN Volunteer House has just been renovated to make the stay for the volunteers comfortable and let them feel at home. The house is located very close to the Russian Market within 5 minutes walking distance.
The volunteer house provides Wi-Fi access, electricity, cold & hot for the guests. All rooms have private bathrooms. Bedrooms are comprised of single beds and bunk beds with bedding provided. Downstairs you will find the dining room, and a living room with TV & books. There is also a roof terrace, where you can relax in your free time. Usually the volunteers share a room with one or two other volunteers.
You will have your own room (most likely) or share a room with one other volunteer. The rooms are usually quite simple, the same way your host family lives: a bed and sheets, a fan and maybe a small cupboard to store your clothes. Some rooms might have a private bathroom while others share a bathroom.
Generally, Cambodians are very conscious about cleanliness.
The host family will provide you with three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you prefer to have lunch at work, it might be possible ask your host family to prepare a lunchbox for you.
The Smiley Guesthouse features 27 rooms, all fully furnished with modern conveniences to make sure you enjoy your stay with us. The place is decorated with colourful motives inspired by the traditional Khmer Artistry. What adds up to the tasteful decoration, is the fact the place is kept immaculately clean at all times. The owners are also security conscious and have sought to make your stay safe and secure.
The Smiley Guesthouse is a family enterprise run by local Khmer who have built the guesthouse up to incorporate everything a customer expects and more. Located in a good place just 10 minutes walking to downtown, the villa is tranquil and serene enough to enjoy a peaceful moment before heading out for a lively evening just around the corner.
Guesthouses in both locations will provide you with 3 meals a day.
